A stacked dryer that wouldn’t turn on
The dryer is a Blomberg, model DV17600W, stacked on top of a matching Blomberg washer in a laundry closet. It wouldn’t turn on at all. With a stacked pair in a tight closet, the work happens from the front and top, so the first step was lifting the dryer’s control panel to get at the electronics behind it.
Replacing the main control board
The main control board sits inside the control panel housing, right behind the dial and display. We disconnected the wiring, took the old board out of its housing, and fitted the replacement. Then each connector went back onto the new board before the panel was closed up.

The main board controls when the rest of the dryer runs. When it fails, the machine can look completely dead. That’s why a dryer that won’t turn on doesn’t always need a long list of parts. Sometimes one board brings it back.
Back up and running
Once the panel was back in place, the dryer powered on and the display lit up again. The whole repair took about 30 minutes in the home. Our repairs carry a 90-day warranty on parts and labour.
