Common GE Appliance Issues We Fix Daily
F2: Over-temperature Condition Detected
It is important to replace the electronic control board if the oven actually overheated. If the oven is at room temperature, the oven temperature sensor may have failed. If the resistance at 72 degrees F is less than 1100 ohms, replace the oven temperature sensor. The electronic control board should be replaced if the resistance is correct.
IE: Water Sensor Failure
To fully shut down the device, hold down the power button and check the wiring harness and pressure sensor switch. If they are properly connected, then the circuit board may need to be replaced.
FC: Oven Door Lock is Defective
Connect any loose wires in the oven door lock circuit and turn off the oven’s electrical power supply. If the oven door lock wire harness is damaged, replace it. If it is fine, replace the oven door lock assembly. If the problem persists, replace the oven control board.
PF: Power Failure
The code can be cleared by pressing cancel. If it persists, check the dishwasher’s electrical connections and the electronic control board.
Freezer Temperature Too Warm
This code appears when the freezer compartment is not maintaining the correct temperature. It may be caused by a faulty evaporator fan, dirty condenser coils, or issues with the defrost system. Try cleaning the coils first. If the problem continues, it may need a professional repair.
C!: Drain Time Too Long
The dishwasher is taking longer than expected to drain. This could mean the drain pump is clogged or the hose is blocked. Clean the filter and check the drain hose for kinks or clogs.
F1: Control Board Failure
F1 means there’s a problem with the main control board. If the stove won’t respond, or heats inconsistently, it may be time to replace the board. Always unplug the unit before attempting a reset.
