Ensure that neither the thermistor nor the control board has any loose or damaged connections. If neither has loose or damaged wires, then your thermistor may need replacing.
EC 24: Defrost Setting Underheating
If your defrost heater’s wiring or control board is faulty, contact a repair service right away. Check for loose or faulty wires on your control board.
EC24: Excessive Refrigerator Compressor Run
Check that nothing is blocking your refrigerator door and that it is closing fully if your fridge is running constantly. If your refrigerator runs continuously, the compressor run time will be detected and this error code will appear. Unplug the appliance and clean the condenser if it’s dusty and remove anything blocking the unit’s fan blade if that doesn’t resolve the error code.
EC20: Faulty Defrost Bi-Metal Operation
You can fix the problem by turning off the circuit breaker of your refrigerator, waiting 30 seconds, and then turning it back on. In the event that this doesn’t work, you can contact a certified refrigeration repair service.
EC 40: Evaporator Thermistor Fault
The EC 40 error code on Sub-Zero refrigerators indicates a problem with the evaporator thermistor. This component monitors the temperature of the evaporator coils. A fault in the thermistor can lead to improper temperature regulation, potentially causing food to spoil or the appliance to overwork. To address this issue, it’s recommended to check the wiring connections to the thermistor for any signs of damage or loose connections.
