Miele Oven Steam Generator Replacement

The steam function on this Miele oven in Surrey had stopped working. We replaced the steam generator, and the visit took about an hour.

What the steam generator does

In a steam oven, the steam generator is the part that turns water into the steam used for cooking. When it stops working, the steam programs stop with it. This one was a Miele H6780BP built into a wall of white cabinets.

Getting inside the oven

To reach the steam generator, the oven came out of its cabinet and went up on trestles so we could work on it with the casing open. Inside, the wiring and tubing are packed in tightly around it.
